Scholarship Opportunities

Here are some scholarship opportunities for horticulture students.  You can't get free money if you don't apply!!!  Applying is easier than you might think!

Mt. ºÚÁϵ¼º½ Horticulture Departmental Scholarships

These are Scholarships that are only available to Mt. ºÚÁϵ¼º½ Horticulture/Agriculture Students.  The General Mt. ºÚÁϵ¼º½ scholarship application must be submitted, and additional application is required for some.  Please apply for all that you may be eligible for!  Deadline to apply is April 14, 2026!

•  - For students who are currently working/interning in the turf industry or interested in a career in turf.
• Olin and Jessie Wolfinbarger Family Scholarship - Open to Mt. ºÚÁϵ¼º½ Horticulture students.  (apply in )
•  - Open to Mt. ºÚÁϵ¼º½ Horticulture students.
•  - For Mt. ºÚÁϵ¼º½ students pursuing a career in irrigation or water resource management.
• Orange County Farm Bureau Scholarship - Open to all Mt ºÚÁϵ¼º½ Agriculture related majors.  (apply in )
•  - Open to Mt. ºÚÁϵ¼º½ Horticulture Students.

Horticulture Scholarships from Outside Organizations

These are scholarships from organizations outside of Mt. ºÚÁϵ¼º½, but they are specifically for horticulture students.  These scholarships are open to Mt. ºÚÁϵ¼º½ students as well as students from other colleges.  Apply for all that you might be eligible for!

• California Landscape Contract Association's  (Due April 15, 2026)
• (PAPA) $3,000 (Due April 30, 2026)
• - various scholarships for floral and horticulture students (Due May 1, 2026)
• California Pest Control Advisors (CAPCA)  - $3,000 (Due May 4, 2026)
• (WRCCA) Agronomy Scholarship $1000 (Due May 22, 2026)
• (HRI) offers several different scholarships for horticulture students.  (Opens March 1, Due May 31 2026)

Mt. ºÚÁϵ¼º½ General Scholarships

These scholarship opportunities are for all Mt. ºÚÁϵ¼º½ students, and may not be specific to horticulture.  New opportunities are posted regularly.    For more information, visit the Mt. ºÚÁϵ¼º½ Scholarship Homepage. 

• - Most Mt. ºÚÁϵ¼º½ Scholarships are available in Spring, but others come up throughout the year.  It is worth checking!

Conference/Training Scholarships

These scholarships offer opportunities for students to attend conferences or trainings that are horticulture related.  

• - Yosemite, CA April 27–30, 2026.  Students are invited to apply for a reimbursement scholarship up to $1500 to cover eligible expenses such as travel, lodging, and conference registration.  Recipients will be asked to volunteer during the conference.  Application deadline is March 27, 2026.
