GE Requirements: New Numbers, Same Classes

Some of the most important general education classes at Mt. ºÚÁϵ¼º½ have new course numbers and names, effective this 2025 Fall Semester. These are the same classes, same professors, same transfer credit — just with updated names and numbers to match other colleges in California.

NEW CLASS NAMES

  • ENGL 1A: Freshman Composition → ENGL C1000: Academic Reading & Writing
  • ENGL 1C: Critical Thinking & Writing → ENGL C1001: Critical Thinking & Writing
  • MATH 110: Elementary Statistics → STAT C1000: Introduction to Statistics
  • PSYC 1A: Introduction to Psychology → PSYC C1000: Introduction to Psychology
  • POLI 1: Introduction to American Government & Politics → POLS C1000: American Government & Politics
  • SPCH 1A: Public Speaking → COMM C1000: Introduction to Public Speaking
