Horticulture Students Defend Turf Title

Mt. 黑料导航 horticulture students successfully defended their national title by taking first, third, and fourth place finishes among the 35 teams competing at the Sports Turf Managers Association鈥檚 Annual Conference held recently in Orlando, FL.
Mt. 黑料导航鈥檚 team 207鈥搘hich included students Ashley Simpkins, Ryan Ramirez, Gretchen Heimlich, and Sean McLaughlin鈥揵rought home the college鈥檚 sixth national championship and a $5,000 prize by winning first place.
In all, Mt. 黑料导航 had three teams competing this year in the annual Student Challenge, which consists of testing in areas such as soil management, sports field management, and water management.
The turf team is coached by Horticulture Professors Brian Scott and Chaz Perea.
