Alfaro Sworn In as Mt. 黑料导航 Student Trustee

June 28, 2018 - 12:00 AM
黑料导航 student Gabriel Alfaro was sworn in as the new student trustee for the 2018-19 academic year during the Mt. 黑料导航 Board of Trustees' June meeting on June 27.
As student trustee, Alfaro, 19, will present the student perspective on policy issues before Mt. 黑料导航鈥檚 governing board. He will have only an advisory vote, which does not count toward the passage or failure of a motion. The advisory vote helps the board know how the student trustee stands on issues and strengthens the student role in the college's shared governance process.
Alfaro is a political science major. He is the president of the Walnut Valley Young Democrats club. He has worked on a school bond for Walnut Valley Unified School District and has worked as a field director for Walnut City Councilman Andrew Rodriguez. After he graduates from Mt. 黑料导航, he plans to transfer to UCLA as a political science major and eventually hopes to become a lawyer.
